About the role

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated CCTV Drainage Engineer to join The Drain Group, supporting projects across the West Midlands and nationwide. In this role, you’ll carry out CCTV surveys on drainage systems to assess their condition, identify faults, and support effective maintenance and repair solutions.

Duties

  • Operate CCTV inspection equipment to survey foul and surface water drainage systems.

  • Adhere to The Drain Group’s standards and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Produce accurate survey reports and condition assessments using software such as Viewline.

  • Carry out high-pressure water jetting (HPW) and cleaning of pipes prior to surveying.

  • Identify and record issues such as blockages, structural defects, infiltration, and root ingress.

  • Provide clear recommendations for suitable repair or maintenance actions.

  • Work collaboratively with engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality data and reports.

  • Maintain, calibrate, and care for all CCTV and survey equipment.

  • Undertake confined space entries where required (with appropriate training and certification).

  • Complete all required documentation including daily job sheets, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).

Experience

  • Proven experience as a CCTV Drainage Engineer or in a related drainage inspection role.

  • Strong understanding of drainage networks, sewer infrastructure, and pipe materials.

  • Competent in the use of CCTV survey software (e.g. View line).

  • Hold a full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points).

  • Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexible with working hours and willing to travel across the West Midlands and nationally.
